Kristy's Story...Big Thank You To Friends and Family

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT LAST NIGHT TO SUPPORT SHANE THOMAS & HIS FAMILY.  It was a great time and WE raised $6,296 thanks to every one of you!  100% of this money will go towards his medical expenses and travel costs back and forth to Duke University in North Carolina.  On December 13th Shane gets an MRI to see if the Gamma Knife treatments and the chemotherapy he is currently on is shrinking the tumor.  We need a miracle to heal him of this brain cancer so all of your thoughts and prayers are still very much needed. Kristy's Story...Michael Is Doing His Second Round of Chemo

Monday Michael went back to the Siteman Cancer Center for his second intravenous Avastin treatment. Things went well this time, everyone was on schedule so it didn't take as long this time. He has also started his second round of chemo pills, Temadol. He started them Tuesday and will take six pills a day for five days again. Last time they made him sick so let's all hope he is better this time.

I would like to thank everyone that has made a donation through this blog. I can't tell you how much it has helped us. Kristy's Story...Benefit Reminder, This Saturday

Just a reminder that this Saturday, December 3rd, is the benefit for Shane Thomas and his family.  It is being held at Durham Park in House Springs, approximately 1/2 mile from Highway 30 on Carol Park Road.  (flyer attached)  You can call me on my cell phone 314-852-8025 if you need further directions!

We'll have two 50/50 Raffles, Silent Auction Items to bid on, Gift Card Lottery, Cake Walks, and Live Music from my husband's band "UNLEADED" from 7pm-12.  Please come out and support this family!  I'm hoping to sell the place out! Kristy's Story...Brain Cancer Benefit for Michael Shane Thomas

Kristy and Michael are at Siteman Cancer Center right now. Michael is scheduled for his MRI's tonight. His first one is the spinal and the second is for the brain tumor. I wanted to take this time to tell everyone about a Brain Cancer Benefit for Shane Thomas. Most of Michael's family and friends call him Shane, Michael is his first name but he prefers to be called Shane.

Please read the following and if you can make it we would love to have you. There is a $10 cover, live music, 50/50 drawings, lottery tree, $2 bottle beer, and food at a reasonable cost. The benefit will be held December 3rd from 7:00 to 12:00 at 3594 Carol Park Road, House Springs, MO.

Kristy's Story...A Great Friend

I was home Saturday and Michael was out helping a friend, like he always does, when another friend came by. He left a box and told me to have Michael open it when he came home. When Michael came home and opened it there was an old bible inside. The bible had been passed down in the friends family for over 150 years. In it the friend had wrote “Thank you Lord for such a great person and great friend, give this courageous man the strength he needs.”  Makes me cry just writing this. We are so lucky to have friends and family that also love Michael.

 

I will continue to share other information and our trip to Duke Hospital for Michael’s next surgery.
